Review from Ken about power raking done by Lawn Care MVP.

Ken Lozier

Midvale, UT
I contacted this company late at night on Nov 23rd to get a quote for snow removal. They send me a very professional quote with a easy simple way to accept to start the service. It snowed hard that night but they were here early in the morning to snow blow my driveway / walkway and my stairs leading up to my house. Great job guys!

Awesome work, very fair pricing, but more important, he does what he says he is going do and then some. What more do you want?

Frequently Asked Questions
+What is included with the sprinkler Blowout/Winterization?

A Lawncare MVP sprinkler Blowout/Winterization includes the following.

  • Your irrigation system water will be turned off for winter.
  • Your timer will be turned off for winter.
  • Lateral and main sprinkler lines will have water blown out.
  • Drain valves will be opened in preparation for cold temperatures.
  • Test ports on backflow will be opened.
  • Ball valves on backflow will be closed.

Please note that if there is no blowout access through the backflow or drain, the lateral and main sprinkler lines will be left open to drain naturally.

+When do you perform sprinkler blowouts/winterizations?

We usually perform sprinkler blowouts / winterizations from about the first of October through the end of October. You can call any time of year to reserve your spot on our schedule. Since we can only perform sprinkler blowouts / winterizations for such a short time, reservation space is limited. We highly recommend getting on our list early; don’t wait until the end of the season when a freeze is in the forecast, as there is a chance we might not be able to complete your winterization before the freeze, if at all.

+How much does a sprinkler blowout or winterization cost.

Your sprinkler blowout / winterization cost will depend on the size of your sprinkler system. We charge our normal sprinkler repair rate, plus a $25 compressor use fee. Most properties can be completed in about 30 minutes, or less. If you have a lot of sprinkler zones it will take longer.

+Can I use my home compressor to blow out my sprinkler lines?

Yes, and no. While you can hook your home air compressor to your sprinklers, most home compressors don’t have enough air volume to sufficiently blow the water out of your pipes, which leaves water in the lines and increases the risk of freeze damage. A proper blowout requires enough air volume pushing through the system, no matter how much pressure (PSI) or force the air has. We use a large compressor mounted on a trailer, which costs $20,000+ and puts out 185 cubic feet of air every minute (CFM). By comparison, most home compressors put out around 4-10 CFM. While you can raise air pressure (PSI) on your home compressor, you can only get the right CFM with a bigger compressor. It is also important to note that most sprinkler systems are designed to operate at about 40-60 PSI, and higher PSI can damage and blow off sprinkler heads.
